Montgomery's 38-Yard Run Caps Comeback Drive, Lifts Bears to 3-4

The Chicago Bears overcame a 20-point deficit to defeat the Houston Texans 23-20 on NBC Sunday Night Football, thanks to a fourth-quarter touchdown run by running back David Montgomery.

Montgomery's 38-yard touchdown run with just over two minutes remaining capped a 91-yard drive for the Bears, who trailed 20-3 in the third quarter.

The Texans had taken a 20-3 lead on a 4-yard touchdown run by Royce Freeman with 2:50 remaining in the third quarter. But the Bears chipped away at the lead, scoring a touchdown on a 1-yard run by quarterback Justin Fields with 7:28 remaining in the fourth quarter.

After forcing a three-and-out by the Texans defense, the Bears took over at their own 9-yard line with 4:46 remaining in the game. Fields completed passes of 11 and 16 yards to receiver Dante Pettis before Montgomery broke free for the game-winning touchdown run.

Montgomery finished the game with 104 rushing yards on 19 carries, while Fields completed 15 of 21 passes for 151 yards and a touchdown.

For the Texans, Davis Mills completed 20 of 30 passes for 246 yards and a touchdown, while Freeman had 64 rushing yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.

With the win, the Bears improve to 3-4 on the season, while the Texans fall to 1-5-1.
